Scotland and the Holy Bible.

2 Timothy 3:15

King James Version

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

"from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures"
Here in Scotland, we all know of the Holy Bible.
Most of us had some Bible at school, prayers, giving thanks for food.
God says the holy scriptures, the Holy Bible, is able to make you wise, to see your need for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
Well, the opposite of that, by not reading the Holy Bible, your ignorance of God by rejecting the holy scriptures, will keep you lost and heading for hell because you have rejected Jesus Christ.

Most people today have rejected the Holy Bible, and have no idea what it says.
They don't read it and study it, as you are commanded to do.
Our ignorance of the Holy Bible, and the history of the Bible, and two thousand years of history since Jesus Christ, is pretty embarrassing, especially when you realise Scotland and even Ayrshire's history, are tied up with and connected too, the Holy Bible and Jesus Christ.

Scotland is split by two religious sides.
The Catholic Celtic Fans and The Protestant Rangers Fans.
Although, there has been a rise in Protestants following Celtic, but not so many Catholics will follow Rangers, which is actually all part of a bigger plan.
But both sides are unsaved.

Your choice of football team will not get you into Heaven.
Your choice of Catholic or Protestant, will not get you into Heaven.
Most Catholics and Protestants are lost.
Only the saved get to Heaven, and that's why you must get saved.

Forget about football and religion, get saved, and follow Jesus Christ.

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God."
Psalm 14:1

The year is 2025, numbered from the birth of Jesus Christ.
Deny Christ, and you have to deny the year, and over two thousand years of history, including our own Scottish history.
Much of our history today has been denied, because when you remove Christ, you remove the certainty of everything.

St Andrew the patron saint of Scotland.

St Andrew officially became the patron saint of Scotland when the country's independence was declared with the signing of The Declaration of Arbroath in the 1320.
Andrew was a Jewish fisherman in Israel.
Scotland's patron saint is St Andrew, the disciple and apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Scotland's national flag is the St Andrews Flag.
St Andrew's Day is celebrated each year on November 30th.
St. Andrews, is a town on the east coast of Fife, Scotland, located 10 miles southeast of Dundee and 30 miles northeast of Edinburgh. It is a historic university town known as the "Home of Golf" and is a royal burgh with a coastline on the North Sea.

It's quite incredible to think that most people in Scotland don't know that St Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland, is the apostle of Jesus Christ, connecting Scotland and our history directly through the Holy Bible too Jesus Christ.
But, if you deny Jesus Christ, all of this falls apart and your history becomes a lie.
That's why so many today are history deniers.

St John the Baptist, the patron saint of Ayr.

The patron saint of Ayr, is John the Baptist.

St John became the patron saint of Ayr when the town's original parish church was built in the late 1100's, 12th century. The church was dedicated to him at that time, but the exact date of his official designation is not specifically documented.

Dedication:
The original parish church in Ayr, founded in the late 12th century, was dedicated to St. John the Baptist.

Patronage: The church's dedication indicates that John the Baptist was established as the town's patron saint from that period onwards.

Establishment:
The town of Ayr itself grew around this church, solidifying the connection between the saint and the burgh.

St John's Tower is the oldest monument in Ayr.
It's building and history and purpose are all tied too, John the Baptist, who baptised Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is the reason that Andrew and John the Baptist are saints, and are part of our history.

John Baptist, the cousin of Jesus Christ, baptised for the remission of sins, and even baptised the Lord himself. John the Baptist, the patron saint of Ayr, proclaimed the coming of the lamb of God, Jesus Christ, who takes away the sins of the world.
To deny Jesus Christ, is to deny both St Andrew and St John the Baptist, and two thousand years of our own history.

SCOTTISH CHRISTIANS IN HISTORY.

JOHN WELSH, IN AYR:
John Welsh (1570–1622) was a famous Scottish Presbyterian preacher, born in Dumfriesshire.
He married the daughter of the famous Scottish preacher, John Knox, who lead the Scottish Reformation.
John Welsh ministered at
Kirkcudbright and Ayr, the latter of which was where he spent five years.

JOHN HARPER:
John Harper (1872 – 1912) was a Baptist minister from Renfrewshire, who set sail to preach in America on the Titanic.
He is remembered for his heroic actions on the sinking ship, including giving his lifejacket to another passenger and continuing to preach the Gospel as the ship sank. Harper, stayed on the ship to offer comfort and witness to other passengers until the end.
A man shouting in a Scots accent "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." was reported by survivors of the Titanic and confirmed to be the Scottish preacher John Harper.
One of the survivors, testified that he got saved from the sea and from his sins that day, because of John Harper's preaching.

ERIC LIDDELL:
Eric Henry Liddell (1902 – 1945) "the flying Scotsman," was a Scottish sprinterrugby player and Christian missionary. At the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, Lidell refused to run in the heats for his favoured 100 metres because they were held on a Sunday. Instead he competed in the 400 metres held on a weekday, a race that he won.
Liddell's Olympic training and racing, and the religious convictions that influenced him, are depicted in the Oscar-winning 1981 film, Chariots of Fire.
